CASE REVIEW

To our current clients, future clients, staff and community:

As you are no doubt aware, Governor Kelly has lifted the stay at home order previously imposed and the State of Kansas has begun to reopen its economy.  At this time, however, COVID-19 remains a significant threat to the safety and well-being of all Kansans.

We wanted to write to update you on our plans for reopening our offices to the public and transitioning to a “new normal” of operations.

While Kansas Courts remain closed for all in person hearings and jury trials, they remain open for essential hearing and electronic filing.  We will continue to contact individual clients as to the effect of this on any hearing dates or trials set prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Courts are conducting business via telephone and/or video conference. To the extent possible we are requesting as many of these as possible to keep your cases moving. It is unclear when Courts may return to business as usual, but when they do we will be ready.

On Monday May 11, 2020, we will begin to reopen our offices.  As both the state and local authorities have continued to recommend telework wherever possible, we will not have our full staff in the office upon reopening.  Instead, for the safety of our staff and clients, we will be opening with a rotating staff in the office.  This means that your attorney and their assistant will not be in the office 5 days per week.  The entire staff at Palmer Law Group remains available, however, via phone and email 5 days per week.

As we reopen, we will begin the process of conducting meetings in person, though we will continue to handle meetings remotely whenever possible.  For all in person meetings, we will follow strict social distancing guidelines and adhere to recommendations regarding the use of face masks.  Hand sanitizer will be available for clients coming in to our office.

Additionally, for the safety of our staff and clients, we must insist on only conducting meetings with clients and one other person, such as a spouse or parent.  We recognize this may be an inconvenience but feel it necessary for everyone’s protection at this time.  We must also insist on only holding one meeting at a time.  Unfortunately, this means we will not be able to clients wait in our lobby.

We appreciate your understanding as we all navigate our way through these unprecedented times. If you have any further questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact us at 785-233-1836 or email us at: info@jpalmerlaw.com.  Thank you for your cooperation and help during this time.

    Sincerely,

    Palmer Law Group LLP
